“When I vacationed here in 2017, leaving Toronto – my home of 55 years – was the furthest thing from my mind. But I fell in love with the beauty and simplicity of this peaceful little town, the kindness of the people, and the allure of a simpler life.
By the next year, I had made Esterillos Oeste my home.
Now, with Stealing Time, I hope to share this extraordinary place with like-minded people who seek not just a vacation, but a transformative space where they can steal some quality time for themselves.

We avoid using toxic chemicals, so you may occasionally encounter a spider or gecko in your space. We encourage you to name them, they’re harmless and beneficial little guests. If you’d prefer not to share your accommodations, we’re happy to rehome them for you.
We believe in supporting our community rather than profiting off it, and request that you pay cash for services such as massage, yoga, catering, and surf instruction directly to those providing them.
There’s markup on items in our little gift shop, and all profits go to Jorge’s turtle sanctuary.
We pay our incredible team well and treat them with care. That said, tipping is always appreciated.

Mauricio is your groundskeeper. He’ll happily supply you with as many of our home-grown coconuts and bananas as you’d like, and prefers rakes to leaf blowers to maintain the tranquility of our property.
Shannon is our special guest liaison. Originally from British Columbia, she’s been hosting in Costa Rica for 18 years, and knows all. If you have questions about moving to Costa Rica, we’ll call on Shannon to advise you.
We have a selection of local masseuses, aestheticians, yoga and pilates teachers, trainers, photographers, caterers and even a tattoo artist, should the spirit move you. Just ask.
